Welcome to The Share Kitchen: Unleashing Culinary Dreams

The Share Kitchen has been a growing idea since 2021. There have been many voices and minds that helped shape what is today. The one thing we have all agreed on has been the mission and vision.

Our mission is to provide opportunities for growth in the local food economy through kitchen access, culinary and nutritional training, business and operational training, and sales growth opportunities. Our Vision is to create a community of food-service professionals who drive entrepreneurial and nutritional education forward in the food industry.

It is precisely that mission and vision that set The Share apart from the other shared kitchens in our market. We exist to cultivate and build on the local food economy.

Every day at The Share Kitchen is a testament to the power of community, creativity, and culinary ambition. Here, every meal prepared, and every product created, is a step towards realizing a dream. From Chef Scully of Pi Pizza whose food truck you will see when he and his team are in the kitchen prepping for their day out in the field, to The Labeaud's who serve breakfast and lunch almost daily in the P30 Coworking space. There are vegan chefs like Kobi of Meals from the Motha and Keneisha with Kings Chik'n who both provide plant-based food options to the community.

Working in a shared kitchen, like The Share Kitchen, offers a myriad of advantages, particularly for those in the early stages of their culinary ventures or established food businesses looking to optimize operations. Let's delve into some key benefits:

  1. Cost Efficiency:

    • Reduced Overhead Costs: Shared kitchen spaces significantly reduce the financial burden associated with setting up and maintaining a private commercial kitchen. Members have access to a fully equipped kitchen without the hefty investment in appliances, maintenance, and utilities.
    • Scalable Use of Space: Pay for what you use. Unlike traditional kitchen spaces where you're locked into a fixed cost regardless of usage, The Share offers flexible plans. This means if your business is seasonal or fluctuating, your kitchen expenses can adjust accordingly.
  2. Community Support:

    • Collaborative Environment: One of the most vibrant aspects of membership in The Share Kitchen is the sense of community. Working alongside other food entrepreneurs fosters a collaborative environment where members can share ideas, experiences, and culinary techniques.
    • Emotional Support: Starting and running a food business can be challenging. At The Share, you're surrounded by others who understand the highs and lows of the industry, offering an invaluable support network.
  3. Networking Opportunities:

    • Business Connections: Shared kitchens often attract a diverse group of culinary professionals. This variety can lead to networking opportunities, partnerships, or even collaborative projects that may not have been possible in isolation.
    • Access to Industry Events: Many shared kitchens host or have ties to industry events, workshops, and seminars. This is enhanced by The Share's attachment to the P30 Coworking Space. These can be excellent opportunities for members to learn, network, and promote their businesses.
  4. Flexibility and Accessibility:

    • Adaptable Space and Time: Members typically have the flexibility to book kitchen space as per their production schedule, offering a balance between work demands and personal life.
    • Diverse Work Environment: Whether you're a morning baker or a late-night caterer, The Share caters to various schedules, accommodating different working styles and needs.
  5. Resource Availability:

    • High-Quality Equipment and Facilities: The Share is equipped with professional-grade equipment, providing members with the tools necessary for a wide range of culinary activities.
    • Storage and Workspace: Alongside cooking space, The Share provides storage facilities, which can be a significant advantage for businesses managing inventory and supplies.
  6. Professional Development:

    • Learning and Growth: Being in an environment with a variety of food professionals can lead to a natural learning curve, where less experienced members can benefit from the knowledge of seasoned chefs and vice versa.
    • Workshops and Training: The Share offers or facilitates access to training sessions and workshops, enhancing members' skills and knowledge.
  7. Market Accessibility:

    • Exposure to Potential Clients: The Share Kitchen community creates access to farmer's market connections, or online platforms, offering members an avenue to showcase and sell their products directly to consumers.
    • Brand Visibility: Being part of a well-known shared kitchen can lend credibility and visibility to emerging food businesses.

The Share Kitchen provides an ecosystem that nurtures growth, fosters community, and offers practical benefits, making it an ideal environment for both budding and established culinary entrepreneurs. It's a space where creativity meets opportunity, leading to sustainable business growth in the food industry.
